Welcome to SAFER

Fast pace of development is deteriorating our natural ecosystems globally. It is also a well known fact that recovery of these deteriorated ecosystems will take a long time. Ecological strategies applied in a judicious way can effectively rejuvenate the systems and pave way for sustainable recovery. SAFER has been initiated to apprise the global community towards the application of ecological principles in forest areas for prevention of ecological disasters and also heal the already disturbed habitats and forest landscapes. Climate change and biodiversity loss are other areas that have been a cause of concern. Ecological understanding of the root cause is essential. The main aim of SAFER has been to further advancement of knowledge in the relevant disciplines by taking up field research and monitoring, development of new technologies and models for degraded natural and man-made forests.
